![]() ![]() she takes "gifts" in the form of dead bodies sacrificed at her altar. people who worship her tend to go crazy, and to then kill. despite this, she seems like an evil god. she seems to be a god who once gave the many people on the risk of rain planet health, peace, and other great powers. ![]() i'd assume this is the new type of "god" that is mentioned numerous times in ror2 as well as ror1 actually. a beacon, apparently? it is being built on the "moon", which is where you see Newt and where you "obliterate" yourself.Īlong with them, they seem to mention a "she". they seem to be attempting to build more powerful structures. there seems to be a brother, or maybe two. Turns out, providence isn't the only godlike creature out there. the lore does however ramp up in ror2, connecting ror1 while also adding some bigger details. items contained are mostly shipped items, and the monsters have very simple descriptions. for ror1 though, there isn't actually that much lore. ![]() There's a bunch of side-lore for individual things, but theres a bit too much to properly mention it all. there are a bunch of messages for every survivor, saying something along the lines of them leaving without their humanity. somehow, he is able to talk in your own language, calling you a monster, a beast, before teleporting away and letting you escape. upon reaching the final stage, you defeat Providence. you must kill all of the peaceful monsters, and use Providence's own technology against him. you are one of those survivors, and your task was to escape. He also sends in an army of his creatures to take care of the survivors. in order to cause minimal hussle, Providence decides to terminate the ship before it reaches the checkpoint over at the other planet. they surely would be able to track his whereabouts with it, or even turn it on to teleport into their land. Providence got scared, however, when he found out that humans were carrying his technology. i believe some monsters, like the golems and claypots, were even made by providence. Providence hated humans because of their instinct to colonise and destroy eco-systems, so he decided to bring them there. the monsters are in-fact peaceful, though they are primitive and therefore very easy to be taken advantage of. he made these teleporters in order to allow the creatures to travel over to this safe planet, where they were to live in harmony. he seemed to be obsessed with creating a safe haven for planet-destroying creatures. Providence is a god-like creature, capable of mass cognitive control and strength. after this, the ship was struck down by Providence, and crash-landed onto his planet. the autopilot was manipulated by something, leading it to Providence's planet. the teleporter was most likely taken in by the ship to transport between planets so that it can reach some advanced research center. it also carried passengers, who were en-route to a planet.įor whatever reason, it'd seem that UES somehow found one of the teleporters from the risk of rain planet, which happened to be off-site at that moment. it was a cargo ship, as you probably already know. we had obtained the ability to traverse solar systems with large freight ships, and the UES is one of the main ships that we had. UES is an organisation set up by Earth somewhere between 2100-2200. The opening first shows the ship of the UES. it's scattered through hundreds of the lore books, so i probably don't have the best version of it. The lore is quite hard to piece together. there's a bunch of them that give insights to the UES's passengers and their lives before and after the crash. Those hours would be worth it though, especially with the funny logs. also, there's a bunch of funny logs too, because whynotīut that would take hours! Could you give me the short version? :p take some time to read through the stuffs, there's plenty of lore to be put together with. There's much more lore to the game, hidden within the descriptions of items and logs. It was years ago and I could be completely wrong. He has to fight his way out using what ever items he can find from his ship and in the end there's like a God like Being that made him crash? maybe because it wanted something the main dude had in the Cargo? I got the feeling that the planet is fighting back from him taking it and the Godlike being is protecting the planet. The main character was transporting a cargo ship with a bunch of items and he crashes into an alien planet.
